Waterfall Gardens is located in the Alajuela area. The Waterfall Gardens tour is recommended as a one day tour perfect for the entire family. Waterfall Gardens feature a number of large waterfalls that can be seen from the trail system the garden provides. Waterfall Gardens also has a stunning butterfly garden, probably one of the largest in Costa Rica. The restaurant at Waterfall Gardens provides a magnificent view and the prices are quiet affordable. The waterfalls at the pretty Waterfall Gardens originate from La Paz River that surround the Poas Volcano and create a series of beautiful waterfalls. The Waterfall Garden trails extend to up to three and a half kilometers on a property 50 feet high and almost as large as a football field. There is also hummingbird gardens and an orchid exhibit. The trails at Waterfall Gardens are well kept and all have wooden hiking staffs. It is better to visit the Waterfall Gardens in the early morning to avoid the rain, it is recommended to be prepare for rain even if visiting the park early in the morning and also take a light windbreaker as the waterfalls do moist the visitors. If it rains there is a large fireplace inside the restaurant to safeguard and keep warm. This a nice tour to do while in Costa Rica providing you with a chance to spend your morning doing something different and enjoying a one day tour where you can see an unusual garden of waterfalls sort of speak.
