Leading newspaper publisher is Grupo Nacion with a portfolio of several daily newspapers in Costa Rica and even in Guatemala. La Nacion, founded in 1946 is the daily newspaper with the best journalistic reputation and the highest circulation. But Grupo Nacion also publishes the daily tabloids Al Dia and the more superficial La Teja.
