Playa del Coco is located in the Nicoya Peninsula 22 miles away from Liberia and is one of the most easily accessible beaches in Guanacaste. Over the years Playa del Coco has become a popular destination for scuba diving, sailing, sportfishing, and nightlife fun. Unfortunately this Costa Rica beach is not surfing, but many surfers use it as a gateway to reach surfing beaches. Daily boat trips to Witches Rock and Ollies Point are available at Playa del Coco. The variety of restaurants, bars, and discos is vast. Enough to keep you entertained for a week. Playa del Coco is probably one of the largest villages in Guanacaste and also a popular beach destination for Ticos looking for some beach fun, especially during weekends. The best season for scuba diving is from the months of April to September. Tours to Catalinas Island and Bat Islands (which have some of the best scuba diving of the Costa Rica shores) can be booked from Playa del Coco.
